Wheat Halwa

Ingredients

  • Aashirvaad Atta -- 2 Cups

  • Sugar -- 1 1/4 Cups

  • Cashew Nuts -- 2 tbsp

  • Raisins -- 1 tbsp

  • Cardamom Powder -- 1/2 tsp

  • Ghee -- 1 1/2 Cups

Directions

  • In a heated saucepan add one cup of ghee.

  • To this add Aashirvaad Superior MP Atta.

  • Stir with a spoon till the atta and ghee mix well

  • Add the remaining half a cup of ghee to this mixture

  • Roast on low heat and keep mixing till the texture is smooth and not crumbly

  • Now add the sugar along with the water

  • Continue to stir the mixture on low heat till the colour of the mixture turns from light to a darker shade of brown

  • Add the cardamom powder followed by cashew nuts and raisins.

  • Mix till there are no lumps and the dried fruits are uniformly spread across the halwa

  • Serve it hot in a bowl and garnish it with some crushed pistachios.

  • Aashirvaad Atta -- 3 Cups

  • Water – 1 to 1.25 cups

  • Salt – 1/2 tsp (optional)

Directions

  • Take the atta in a deep bowl, make a well in the centre and start mixing water part by part.

  • Begin kneading the dough along with adding water in the mix.

  • Knead till the dough becomes soft.

  • Make small to medium sized balls of the dough.

  • Flatten them with flour on the rolling board. Roll it out with a rolling pin.

  • Put the roti on a hot tawa and let it cook on one side (approx. for a min) and then change the side.

  • Once it starts to puff, take it off from the tawa and hold it with a tong directly to the fire.

  • Serve them directly or keep them in a casserole.

Whole Wheat Ladoos

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ Cup Aashirvaad Whole Wheat Atta

  • 1/2 Cup Ghee

  • 1 Cup Caster Sugar

  • 1/3 Cup Crushed Almonds

  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder

  • 2 Drops Rose Essence

Directions

  • Dry roast atta, on low medium heat until lightly colored this should take about 6-7 minutes. Add almonds and roast for about 3 more minutes. Important to keep stirring continuously, to roast evenly.

  • Add ghee and keep roasting, keep stirring continuously, atta will be light brown and will have sweet aroma of roasting. This should take about 4-5 minutes.

  • Turn off the heat and transfer the mix to another bowl. Wait until mix is lightly warm add sugar, cardamom powder and rose essence. Mix well until sugar is incorporated nicely.

  • To make the ladoos, take about 2 tablespoons of atta mix into your palm. Gently press the mixture between your palms to form a smooth, round ball. The ladoos should be little smaller then golf ball, but you can adjust as you prefer.

Wheat Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 250 gm Aashirvaad Whole Wheat Atta

  • 125 gm powdered sugar

  • 150 gm chilled butter

  • 1 tsp cardamom powder (optional)

Directions

  • Mix atta, sugar and cardamom in a bowl.

  • With your fingertips, rub in diced butter into the flour. When the mixture resembles breadcrumbs, knead it into soft dough.

  • Knead on a floured surface until smooth. Wrap the dough in a paper and chill for 30 minutes.

  • Roll on a floured surface till 1/8" thick. Cut and arrange on a baking tray. Chill for ten minutes.

  • Bake in a pre-heated oven at 170 degree C for ten minutes or until golden.
